7 Coastal Living Rooms You’ll Love
As the summer season approaches, it’s time to plan some R&R! For a little vacation vibe design inspiration, what better spaces to showcase than some of our favorite coastal living rooms. From cathedral ceilings and white-washed beams to custom beverage centers and elegant fireplaces, these living rooms are ideal for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the view.
1. Kan’t Beat the View: View Showcase
This living room boasts a variety of textures, from cable railings going up the stairs, a stone fireplace, white oak floors, and whitewashed beams that match the wood detail in the kitchen island. A La Cantina sliding door helps to capitalize on the view.
2. Double the Fun: View Showcase
Floor to ceiling corner windows really open up this space, along with a cathedral ceiling and a sliding glass door that leads to a screened in porch complete with retractable screen in order to take in ocean views. The beautiful fireplace surround is custom stone imported from Italy.
3. Paradise Point: View Showcase
An abundance of natural light streams into this living room from floor to ceiling windows. A modern fireplace anchors the seating area of the open floor plan which connects to the dining room and custom bar. In designing this space, I surprised the homeowners with the ceiling detail as I mimicked the diamond grill pattern from the windows onto the ceiling.
4. Star of the Sea: View Showcase
This living room features a mix of both traditional and contemporary interior designs. The neutral color palette creates a crisp and bright design while also creating a warm and cozy space. Custom details include custom built-ins, grasscloth ceiling design, and porcelain fireplace surround.
5. Surfside: View Showcase
Designed as an airy open concept floor plan, this living room boasts several different defined areas to gather and relax while taking in breathtaking ocean views. Major focal points include a detailed cathedral ceiling and two-story fireplace with linear surround which is made of an entire slab of porcelain that looks like concrete for a modern look.
6. Bay Daze: View Showcase
A calm, neutral palette reminiscent of refreshing salt air mixes with a variety of textures, wood tones, and rough stone. The living area was designed so that when you walk up the stairs you are greeted by gorgeous bay views. Boasting exposed white beams, a classic stone fireplace, and solid white oak hardwood floors throughout offer a feeling of casual beach elegance.
7. Ocean Oasis: View Showcase
In order to establish a feeling of peace and tranquility, I designed the main color scheme to be white in a variety of shades as well as textures to add dimension. I designed a custom bar in the great room as it’s a natural way to shift everyone away from the kitchen island in order to space out the flow of entertaining.
